Naturally Glamping

Looking for cosy couples’ getaways under canvas or an adventure packed weekend with friends? Get away from the hustle and bustle and stay in a beautiful bell tent in the Devon countryside. Set up, ready for your arrival, glamping is the perfect way to camp! This peaceful home away from home, with lakeside views and woodland walks makes for splendidly soothing hols.

The sloping meadow, with levelled pitches, offers breathtaking views. A stream meanders down the hillside from a small pond at the top, down to a fishing lake at the bottom of the field, connecting to a river in the valley below. A vast wall of trees, that is Haldon forest lies beyond!

Naturally

This secluded site is something of a wildlife haven. With no site lighting and minimal (solar) electricity it’s perfect for spotting glow worms and bats at night. Here you’ll have access to uninterrupted vistas of trees, a fishing lake and a small river, and miles of woodland forest trails, accessible via a small bridge. (One of which leads to the reward of a pint in the pub.)

Fancy whiling away a day or two by the waterside? Bring a fishing rod and tackle along and try your luck down at the lake.

This luxurious wild camping is located in a supremely green location and is a fab location for those who love escaping to a simpler life.

The bell tent comes with outdoor furniture and a firepit/BBQ, where you can sit back and take in these rural views (and/or tuck into some self-barbecued bites). Sleeping arrangements come in the form of a comfy double bed (made up and ready for your arrival,) along with an ornate bedside table. Pin back the tent’s doors in the morning if you’re looking to wake up to some truly gorgeous views.

Glamping

The tent comes equipped with handy features like a lantern and power bank, while touches like fairy lights, bunting and rugs create a cosy vibe. A new toilet & shower block and a basic outdoor kitchen are also close by, for your convenience.*

And further excellent news for all guests… the farm’s handy location puts it within a 20-minute drive of the beaches at Teignmouth and Dawlish, city wanderings in Exeter and rural rambles in the Dartmoor National Park.

Thinking of dabbling in a bit of wild camping, but not sure whether you’ll really take to the simple life? ‘Naturally Glamping’ could well be the place to give it a whirl.

More info.

There are never more than 10 pitches in the 2.5 acre field (even on a busy summer holiday weekend), so there is plenty of space. Bell tents are spaced a minimum of 10 metres apart from one another, for your privacy.

If you have friends/family that would like to join, message us for availability and we’ll aim to arrange you to stay in pitches close to one another.

The tents can squeeze another single bed in too, if you have a 3rd person (at a small extra fee).

DOGS: Dogs are allowed, but the site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

PARKING/ACCESS: We have 3 different car parks. For 4×4 owners and braver drivers, there’s parking very close to pitches. For others, access from the main car park involves a 200-metre walk down a steep track, which can be slippery at times. (Wheelbarrows provided for your gear.)

Please note, this site is not suitable for the less able.

The tents are self check in, but good signage and a site map should enable you to find your pitch on your own.

(We provide a contact number for any inquiries and there is someone on-site in case of emergencies.)

Please note there is a lot of water around (stream, pond, small lake and river) and you are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of any children that you bring.

The site is on a working farm, so there are lots of horses and some alpacas around.

* Please note that due to Covid restrictions, from April 12th till May 16th we will be unable to provide shared facilities. During this period, we will provide every pitch with their own portaloo, (cleaned thoroughly between each hire) for your safety and convenience. Unfortunately, it will be impractical/uneconomical for us to provide individual showers for each pitch during this period.    The kitchen will be out of use, but each tent has its own fire pit, single gas hob, kettle and mugs. Please bring any necessary cooking equipment you require.

Note, this info is accurate at the date of publication and is subject to changes in govt guidelines.
